The present invention relates to a device and a method for diagnosing an automobile. The device may include an OBD connector which is connected to an OBD (On Board Diagnostics) port in a vehicle; an initial value setting unit which corrects or initializes internal setting values according to the parallel state of a vehicle; a collision detection unit which detects a vehicle collision collides based on values from a three-axis acceleration sensor mounted in a vehicle; and a communication unit which transmits vehicle collision information to emergency contact through an external device when vehicle collision is detected in a collision detection unit. |
