A base paper for a decorative laminate, said base paper being to be used as a surface decorative material of a decorative laminate formed of a thermosetting resin, having a good hiding ability and being not sized. The term "hiding ability" means a characteristic of hiding a background color hue and hue unevenness when used in a decorative laminate. The present invention addresses the problem of providing a base paper for a decorative laminate to be used in inkjet printing, said base paper for a decorative laminate having a good inkjet printability and a good impregnation processing suitability in a thermosetting resin, and a decorative laminate using the base paper for a decorative laminate. A base paper for a decorative laminate to be used in inkjet printing, wherein at least one kind of a neutral water-soluble metal salt selected from the group consisting of calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate and calcium acetate is externally added at least to a printing surface (front surface) so that 0.5-3.0 g/m2 (expressed in solid content) of the water-soluble metal salt is adhered on a dry basis. |
