PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for drying granulated substances through indirect heating and a reformed coal manufacturing method capable of improving stability of a pressure balance of carrier gas when drying the granulated substances using indirect heating type dryers.SOLUTION: A method for drying granulated substances through indirect heating, which uses two indirect heating type dryers, comprises: a process (A) to dry the granulated substances by a first indirect heating type dryer; a process (B) to further dry the granulated substances by a second indirect heating type dryer; a process (C) to collect first fine particles in carrier gas exhausted from the first indirect heating type dryer and to mix the same with the granulated substances to be supplied to the process (B); and a process (D) to collect second fine particles in the carrier gas exhausted from the second indirect heating type dryer and to mix the same with the dried granulated substances obtained through the process (B).
