PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system for an STL/TTL line for transmitting a connected and combined TS via the STL/TTL line, the connected and combined TS being obtained by arbitrarily connecting and combining a plurality of kinds of segment type broadcast TS as many as or less than a predetermined number of segments, and a reception apparatus therefor.SOLUTION: The transmission system for an STL/TTL line comprises a transmission apparatus 1 for the STL/TTL line which monitors a TSP counter value of a predetermined segment type broadcast TS, generates a compressed broadcast TS by deleting null packets of predetermined TSP counter values in accordance with a transmission parameter, generates a connected and combined TS by connecting the compressed broadcast TS and a broadcast TS to which data compression is not applied, and transmits the connected and combined TS to the outside; and an additional information insertion control device 8 which multiplexes first additional information before applying the data compression and multiplexes second additional information after applying the data compression. A reception apparatus 10 for the STL/TTL line separates the connected and combined TS, decompresses the compressed broadcast TS, and recovers the original broadcast TS. |
