<p>Provided is a method whereby a master device can reliably perform I2C bus communication with slave devices inserted into slots with a simple configuration. Unique address definitions (15-1, 15-2, 15-3), which correspond to specific I2C addresses to be possessed by multiple slave devices (12-1, 12-2, 12-3) connected to multiple slots (14-1, 14-2, 14-3), are assigned to the respective slots, which are for the purpose of electrically connecting the multiple slave devices to an I2C bus (13). When one slave device (12-2) is connected to one slot (14-2) of the multiple slots, the slave device (12-2) detects the address definition (15-2) assigned to the slot (14-2), converts this address definition (15-2) to an I2C address, and stores this I2C address in the slave device (12-2) as its own address. Thereafter, the slave device (12-2) uses this I2C address to perform I2C bus communication with a master device (11).</p> |
