<p>Magnetothermal fibers are described. The fibers include magnetic particles that are configured to produce heat in a time-varying magnetic field. A detectable tag for an article of manufacture is described. The tag includes fibers having magnetic particles configured to produce heat when exposed to a time-varying magnetic field. Methods for making magnetothermal fibers and detectable tags having magnetothermal fibers are described.</p>
