PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium hydroxide slurry for a wet type spray material excellent in quick setting property and thermosetting.SOLUTION: To 50 g of calcium hydroxide slurry used for a wet type spray material of a castable refractory which is prepared at a concentration of 5 mass% and maintained at 25±1°C, 40 g of an oxalic acid aqueous solution at the concentration of 0.5 mol/l maintained at 25±1°C is added at once to make an oxalic acid reactivity obtained by a measurement of time (minutes) by becoming pH 7.0 after the addition of 10 minutes or shorter, and a precipitation volume, measured after 1 hour of adding the calcium hydroxide slurry prepared at a concentration of 2 mass% to a 100 ml measuring cylinder and leaving it at room temperature, of 60 ml or more, and the concentration of 8 mass% or more.
