PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wearable electronic device capable of accepting user gesture involving movement of the device as an input.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, a wearable computing device includes one or more sensors, one or more processors, and a memory coupled with the processors. The memory contains instructions that can be executed by the processors. When executing the instructions while the wearable electronic device is worn on a limb of a user, the processors detect a gesture-recognition-activation event associated with the wearable computing device using one or more sensors of the wearable computing device, detect movement of the limb using the one or more sensors thereof, determine a gesture made by the user on the basis of at least part of the movement, and process the gesture as an input to the wearable computing device.
