Water Treatment Apparatus and Method of Use

Apparatus for treating water has a generally rectangular container for containing the water, the container having a clarification zone and a settling zone. An entry conduit extends along the container and receives water from a water inlet. Water outlet ports are distributed along the length of the conduit for directing water from the conduit into the settling zone. A water exit trough spaced across the container from the entry conduit and extending along the container receives clarified water flowing from the settling zone through the clarification zone. The top of the settling zone is open to allow access down through the settling zone to a sludge collection zone in the bottom of the container.

Apparatus for treating water comprising a generally rectangular container for containing water, a water inlet arrangement for introducing water into a water settling zone extending along the container at positions distributed along the settling zone, a clarification zone adjacent the settling zone and extending along the container for receiving water from the settling zone, for clarifying the received water, and for transmitting the water as it is being clarified across the clarification zone to an outlet arrangement, and a sludge collection zone under the settling and clarification zones to receive sediment therefrom, the settling zone open at the top to allow access along the length of the container down through the settling zone to sludge in the sludge collection zone.
