A member (R) for electrophotography is used in an electrophotographic device. The member (R) for electrophotography has a surface layer (1). The surface layer (1) comprises a matrix polymer (11) that forms the skeleton of the surface layer (1) and a surface modifying agent (12) that is contained in the matrix polymer (11). The surface modifying agent (12) is configured from a copolymer which contains, in each molecule, a first polymerization unit that is based on a (meth)acrylate having a silicone group (121) and a second polymerization unit that is based on a (meth)acrylate having a fluorine-containing group (122).
