The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a compound having excellent solubility in weakly polar solvents and having a high absorption coefficient; and an ink containing the compound. The present invention relates to an ink comprising: a solvent which has a relative permittivity of 3 or less as measured at a frequency of 1 kHz and a temperature of 22˚C and also has solubility in water of 20 mg/L or less at 25˚C; and an azo compound represented by general formula (1).
