[Also in Group XXV] A two-thread chain-stitch is used in a sliding clasp fastener both to attach elements 2 on to fastener tapes 1 and to act as a cover strip which masks the elements. The cover strip is formed from two rows 3, 4 of stitching using a two-needle chain-stitch sewing-machine. A stiffening card 6 or 6<11> is shown for use with different forms of elements in Figs. 3 and 6. |
