882,908. Couplings between relatively movable conducting parts; two-part couplings. BLANCHET, J. M. May 5, 1958 [Aug. 13, 1957], No. 14313/58. Class 38 (1). A connector for use with a slotted conduit comprises a two-part rectangular insulating body 4, 9, said parts being urged away from each other by a central spring 10 to an extent limited by hook-shaped contacts 7c carried by the part 4 adjacent its ends and projecting through apertures in the part 9. The contacts 7c face in opposite directions and are formed at their inner ends with resilient socket contacts 7b located so as to receive the pins of a plug inserted through apertures 4a in the part 4. To attach the connector to the conduit, it is placed thereon at an angle and then pressed to compress the spring 10 and cause the contacts 7c to be projected into the conduit slot whereupon the connector is turned and released to cause the said contacts to hook under the sides of the slot and engage the conductors therein. |
