The invention presents a fly opening 2 for a garment (1, Fig 3) comprising: two overlapping fabric panels 3, 4 defining an elongate aperture 7 in the garment between the panels; a two-part magnetic closure , comprising a first magnetic part 11 and second magnetic part 12 attached to the first and second panels respectively, said first and second parts being positioned such that when the parts are magnetically connected, the panels are held together in face-to-face abutment, and a mechanical catch comprising cooperating catch portions 13,14 located on each of said panels and arranged to resist or prevent relative movement of said fabric portions in a direction parallel to their plane of abutment and perpendicular to the elongate aperture. The invention also provides garments such as undergarments, pajamas and loungewear incorporating such a fly opening. |
