PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for a vehicle efficiently absorbing a collision load, in the vehicle in which an input position of the external collision load is not on the axis of a side frame. SOLUTION: A crash box 38a is provided between a bumper beam 40 and the front side frame 24a with the axis 86 offset downward from the bumper beam 40, so as to absorb the external collision load. The inclination on the offset side with respect to the axis 86 is set larger than the inclination on the non-offset side, on an upper surface portion connecting between the bumper beam 40 and the front side frame 24a, and on a lower surface portion connecting between the bumper beam 40 and the front side frame 24a. The offset side rigidity is set lower than the non-offset side rigidity, on the end side where the upper surface portion and the lower surface portion connect to the bumper beam 40.
