PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of suppressing an increase in communication traffic while acquiring necessary presence information without lack. SOLUTION: A communication device comprises a communication unit 114 and a storage unit 113 storing an address book. When the same communication destination is registered with the address book under two or more registration names, the communication unit 114 requests notice of presence information on a predetermined registration name of any of the two or more registration names individually given to the same communication destination.
