PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide film having an extremely small amount of attached foreign materials on its surface and also excellent in insulation property. SOLUTION: This polyimide film consisting mainly of a polyimide obtained by reacting aromatic tetracarboxylic acids with aromatic diamines and having the≤0.5 ng/cm<SP>2</SP>total content of the 3 kinds of elements of iron, chromium and nickel, and also having the 0.005 to 0.3 ng/cm<SP>2</SP>content of molybdenum and/or tungsten element as the attaching foreign materials.
