Interference I3 is received in a waveform received in a wireless network,the interference comprising at least one non-linear product of at least a first signalC1. On the basis of at least the first signal, a synthesized interference signal is generated comprising at least one synthesized non-linear product 7.1, and the synthesized interference signal is combined with the received waveform at the canceller element to produce a combined signal 7.2. The combined signal is processed 7.3 to determine an indication of a relationship between a level of said interference in the combined signal and a level of said interference in the received waveform to decide which to use as the received signal for further processing (i.e. which is used as the output) (referred to herein as a Figure of Merit decision). The interference may be passive intermodulation or passive harmonic products. The level of interference may be based on a Signal to Noise ratio or average power level. The degree of cancellation of the interference may also be determined. |
