A machine tool comprises a device 26 displaceable towards-and-from a tool spindle 2 to prevent a tool falling from the spindle before it has been securely attached thereto. A member 6 is secured in the spindle 2 by a drawbar 20 and is driven by a block 16 engaging a recess 12 in a flange 10. The device 26 is mounted eccentrically on a pin 24 so that it can be swung to the position shown to prevent the member 6 falling away when the draw-bar is not engaged. |
