<p>The method involves generating polymer melt into plasticizing cylinder (3) that is provided with internally tempered smooth cylindrical portion (4). An opening (5) is provided in smooth cylinder portion for introducing physical blowing fluid into the plasticizing cylinder. The polymer melt in plasticizing cylinder is blended with physical blowing fluid so that propellant-containing polymer melt is formed for producing foamed extrudate in plasticizing cylinder. An independent claim is included for a reequipping device for converting conventional extruder into foam extruder.</p> |
