<p>The motor vehicle assembly has a connector (1) with an insertion end (3) that is configured for insertion of a pipe (2). A holding mandrel (4) is surrounded by an outer sleeve (5). An insertion ring space (6) for the pipe is arranged between the holding mandrel and the outer sleeve. A thread (13) is provided in the insertion ring space. The crests (14) of the thread are provided in the insertion ring space non-positively or frictionally on the pipe end and non-positively engage the pipe end. An independent claim is included for a method of manufacturing a motor vehicle assembly.</p>
