<p>A method of determining a customer identifier from transaction data generated during a transaction at a point-of-sale system in which the customer has used a transaction device, the transaction at the point-of-sale system generating first and second payment data related to the transaction device andto the transaction, and the transaction device being associated with a customer identifier, the method comprising: receiving transaction data from the point-of-sale system, the received transaction data comprising the first payment data related to the transaction device and the transaction; extracting the first payment data from the transaction data; querying a data store using the extracted first payment data, the data store comprising the second payment data, the second payment data being associated withthe customer identifier, wherein the data store is arranged to determine the second payment data from the first payment data incorporated in the data store query; receiving, from the data store, the customer identifier associated with the determined second payment data.</p> |
