853,709. Shovelling machines. BROWN INDUSTRIES Ltd., D. June 21, 1957 [June 21, 1956], No. 19192/56. Class 68(1). [Also in Group XXX] Pivotally supported at the front of vertically swingable, tractor-mounted arms g is a shovel or fork lift assembly. The angular relationship between the shovel or fork assembly and the arms is controlled by links n, p that are pivotally connected to each other, to the assembly, and to the tractor frame e at the same points as the arms g. Secured to the links n, rotation of which in one direction is limited by stops o on the frame e, are cams t, which cooperate with spring-biased latch members s rigidly secured on a shaft r rotatably mounted in the arms g. A hand lever v is secured to one of the links n. The relationship between the cams and the latches during the breakmg out of the assembly allows of the movement of the assembly lagging behind that of the arms until the latches engage detents in the cams. Unloading of the assembly is caused by pulling down on the lever v so that the latches clear the detents and ride over the cams.
