PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compression device capable of preventing the progress of abnormal wear, biting or the like even if they occur at a compressor mechanism and a bearing of a closed compressor having a motor protector, and is high in reliability. SOLUTION: The compression device comprises the closed compressor in which the motor protector 91 for directly disconnecting a motor circuit at an abnormal increase of a motor current and an abnormal rise of an operation gas temperature is embedded into the motor circuit for carrying electricity to a motor coil 3e, and a main power supply circuit for supplying power to the motor circuit of the closed compressor. An overcurrent relay 920 for blocking the passage of a current when an overcurrent flows to the main power supply circuit is arranged at the main power supply circuit, and an overcurrent set value of the overcurrent relay is set smaller than a maximum drive current value (operation current value) of the motor protector 91.
