The invention comprises salt-like dyestuffs or mixtures of salt-like dyestuffs of the formula (K)+ (A)- where (K)+ is the cation of a polymethine dyestuff and (A)- is the anion of an anionic phthalocyanine dyestuff, a di- or triarylmethane dyestuff, an anthraquinone dyestuff or a mono- or polyazo dyestuff or its metal complex containing one or two dyestuff radicals to one metal atom. The term "polymethine dyestuff" includes azapolymethine dyestuff. The dyestuffs can be made by mixing solutions of one or more anionic and cationic dyestuffs at ordinary temperatures when the salt-like dyestuff is precipitated, or by mixing the dyestuffs in pulverulent form and making the mixture into a paste with water. A dispersing agent may be included and part of the cationic and/or anionic dyestuff may be replaced by colourless cationic and/or anionic substances.
