The appliance has a motive base formed with a housing enclosing an electric motor. Electrical control units e.g. switches, control the motor, and a work accessory is connected with the base. A retaining ring (20) retains a cutting tool on the accessory. The retaining ring includes two hooking components (25) that are arranged in an opposite manner and extended at distance from an annular body wall of the retaining ring, where the hooking components are provided with hooks (30). The annular body wall provides compression flexibility between the hooking components.
