<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article permitting easy position adjustment when the article is worn by making the color of a rear surface sheet visible from a skin abutting surface side. <P>SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes: a front surface sheet 2 which forms the skin abutting surface; the rear surface sheet 3 which forms a non-skin abutting surface; and a liquid-retaining absorbent core 4 interposed between the sheets 2 and 3. The absorbent core 4 includes a plurality of independent absorbing members 40. Two or more absorbing members 40 are disposed at prescribed intervals at least in one direction, and a gap 41 is formed between adjacent absorbing members 40 and 40 to extend in the longitudinal direction of the article. The gaps 41 are present at least in a central region in the lateral direction of the absorbent article 1.
