A method of applying a cosmetic ingredient and/or a dermatological ingredient to skin, wherein the method comprises at least one of rubbing and distributing on the skin in direct contact with the skin a composition consisting of one or more capsules, which capsules comprise the cosmetic ingredient and/or dermatological ingredient, the capsules having an average diameter of from 3 mm to 40 mm and comprising an envelope which is at least one of solid, semisolid and dimensionally stable and comprises at least one wax and at least one of an emulsifier, a natural polymer, and a synthetic polymer.
