1. A device for closing a left atrial appendage of a patient comprising:
a containment bag composed of a first material and having a proximal portion with an opening and a distal portion and having a collapsed delivery configuration for passage into the left atrial appendage and a second larger configuration; a wire composed of a second different material and movable into the containment bag in situ for enclosure therein to expand the containment bag in the atrial appendage from the collapsed delivery configuration to the second configuration, the wire positioned proximal of the containment bag in the collapsed delivery configuration of the containment bag; and at least one retaining leg to secure the containment bag in the left atrial appendage, the retaining leg composed of a material different than the first material of the containment bag, the at least one retaining leg movable from a collapsed delivery position for passage into the left atrial appendage to a larger configuration, the least one retaining leg extending distally from the containment bag in the collapsed delivery position.
