The device (10) has a support comprising a friction pad (32) made from adhering material e.g. elastomer such as polyurethane. A thin plastic material film (28) of an envelope is applied against a contact surface (34) of the friction pad. The thin film is rubbed against the contact surface by a user for facilitating separation of another thin plastic material film (30) of the envelope and the former thin film to open the envelope. The friction pad is fixed on a front wall (16) of the support in a detachable manner, where the front wall is parallel to a base wall (12).
