The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for adjusting a camera module. To this end, the apparatus for adjusting a camera module of the present invention includes: a supporting unit mounted thereon with a camera module to be adjusted and having a contact sensing unit having the height the same as that of the camera module; a focus adjusting unit for adjusting a focus by controlling a position of the camera module; a distance measuring unit for measuring a vertical distance from the focus adjusting unit to the contact sensing unit and the camera module; a moving unit for vertically moving the focus adjusting unit to allow the focus adjusting unit to come closer to or away from the camera module; and a controlling unit for controlling the distance measuring unit, the focus adjusting unit, and the moving unit. The controlling unit controls the moving unit by generating a drive signal, which enables the focus adjusting unit to arrive at a focus adjusting position of the camera module based on the distance from the focus adjusting unit to the camera module measured by the distance measuring unit by using a correlation between a distance from one position of the focus adjusting unit to the contact sensing unit measured by the distance measuring unit and the drive signal applied to the moving unit when the focus adjusting unit moves from the position of the focus adjusting unit to the contact sensing unit.
