Disclosed are methods and systems for use in the manufacture of reconstituted or reconsolidated wood product using crushing and steam pressing systems. The wood logs are steamed for not more than two hours, selectively the ends of the logs cut at predetermined angles and scanned for data as to the diameter of the ends of the logs. The logs are fed into sets of log crushing stations, one log crush station having two rolls with rods encircling the rolls and spaced across the width of the rolls. The other log crushing station has one roll with axially directed bars spaced circumferentially about the roll. |
