A GPS signal receiving apparatus and a method thereof in a communications system using a switch delivering GPS signal to a GPS receiver for an uplink period are provided to improve the receiving performance of GPS signal due to receiving GPS signal in an uplink period. A GPS(Global Positioning System) signal receiving apparatus comprises a GPS antenna, a switch(612), and a GPS receiver(614). According to the switch is the TDD(Time Division Duplexing) control signal, the GPS signal from the GPS antenna is discontinuously delivered to the GPS receiver. The GPS receiver interprets the GPS signal from the switch. According to the switch is the TDD control signal, the GPS signal is delivered to the GPS receiver for the uplink period. |
