An apparatus for removing dendrite from an edge part of a plated strip is provided to the generation of secondary surface defects of the strip by strongly sucking dendrite powder removed from the edge of the strip. An apparatus(1) for removing dendrite from an edge part of a plated strip comprises a rotary body(10), an edge dendrite removal unit(30), and a blowing unit and a suction unit. The rotary body is rotatably installed on a moving frame(12) of which position is adjusted correspondingly to a proceeding path of the plated strip. The edge dendrite removal unit is mounted on the rotary body. The edge dendrite removal unit removes edge dendrite while a proceeding strip edge(100a) is brought into contact with the edge dendrite removal unit. The blowing unit and suction unit are provided to inner and outer sides of the rotary body respectively. The blowing unit and suction unit blows and sucks removed dendrite powder. |
