<p>Disclosed are a medication storage cabinet and a control method thereof, wherein the medication storage cabinet stores multiple and various medications, and provides only a certain kind of the medication at a certain amount according to the instruction of an authorized user. The disclosed medication storage cabinet comprises: multiple layers of shelves mounted inside a case, and mutually separated up and down; medication discharge units partitioning each of the shelves into multiple rows filled with the same kind or the different kinds of the medications, and having units discharging the same kind or the different kinds of the medications, which fill each of the rows, to the front sides of the shelves; a medication discharge driving part positioned inside the case, arranged between the shelves and a door, able to move up and down and horizontally, and driving the medication discharge units in order to discharge the medication to the front sides of the shelves; a moving head having a medication load part on which the medications discharged to the front sides of the shelves by the medication discharge units are loaded; and a control unit controlling an operation of moving the moving head to the front side of the certain row of the certain shelf, an operation of discharging a predetermined amount of the medications filling the certain row of the certain shelf to the front side of the shelf in order to load the predetermined amount of the medications on the moving head, and an operation of moving the moving head, which has the medication loaded thereon, to an outlet.</p> |
