A screen zoom method in a touch screen performing a zoom function without a process touching the touch screen according to the proximity degree and a terminal using the same are provided to improve the convenience of a user by displaying a location of a pointer by sensing the proximity of the pointer without contacting the touch screen. A menu screen is indicated on a terminal(S11). The terminal senses the proximity degree of the pointer approaching the touch screen(S12). The terminal displays a part of the touch screen coordinate corresponding to the sensed pointer(S14). If the touch screen is not touched within the designated time or pointer is not sensed in the constant distance, the expanded part zooms out and the original screen in which the zoom function is not applied is indicated on the terminal(S17 ,S18). |
