The present invention relates to a propulsion apparatus for a ship which includes a propeller combined to the stern of a ship for generating a propulsion force and a duct installed in front of the propeller. The duct comprises a larboard duct installed on the larboard of the ship, and a starboard duct installed on the starboard of the ship. The starboard duct is relatively smaller in diameter size than the larboard duct. The propulsion apparatus for a ship according to the present invention is prepared with the larboard and the starboard ducts on the stern of the ship, with the larboard duct bigger in diameter size than the starboard duct, so as to consider the asymmetric occurrence of a propeller wash and control the fluid flow, thereby improving the propulsion efficiency. |
