[Also in Group XXXIV] A helicopter pilot's seat which is adjustable vertically and horizontally and is provided with shock absorbers to alleviate vertical shocks comprises a frame having tubes bent at right angles to provide members 1, 2 and carrying rollers 41, 43 co-operating with guide rails 44 to provide longitudinal adjustment, the desired position being locked by plungers 84, 84a, operated by means of a lever 62 and bowden cable, engaging holes 90 in rails 44. A well seat having a lower portion 50 and backrest 52 is mounted on the frame by a parallelogram linkage consisting of upper levers 25, 25a, and bottom levers 22, 22a maintained in position by shock absorbers 68, 68a articulated about 69 on two pairs of shock absorber levers 17-18, 17a-18a the rods of which are pivoted on bearings 55 of the wellseat and of a device having sectors 13, 13a, lockable in relation to the frame by means of plungers which engage holes 14 in the sectors and which are operated against spring loading by means of a handle 9<SP>1</SP> and bowden cable. |
