A method for monitoring the tyre pressure of a motor vehicle comprising at least one sensor (4a, 5a, 6a, 7a) per tyre (4, 5, 6, 7) comprising the following steps: determining, for each value determined by a sensor (4a, 5a, 6a, 7a), the presence of an inconsistency on the basis of a comparison of the value determined by the sensor (4a, 5a, 6a, 7a) and stored values, determining the value of a state variable on the basis of the presence of an inconsistency, initialising an inconsistency counter, modifying the inconsistency counter with an incrementation step on the basis of the value of the state variable, and determining if a value alert needs to be issued on the basis, in particular, of the level of the inconsistency counter. |
