This compound is useful as anti-microbial agent and is therefore useful in the treatment or prevention of infections caused by a bacteria, particularly by a Gram-positive bacterium selected from Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Propionibacterium .Ipp., Enterococcus spp., Bacillus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Nocardia spp., Clostridium spp., Actinobacteria spp., and Listeria spp.. or by a Gram-negative bacterium selected from Enterobactericeae, Bacteroidaceae, Vibrionaceae , Pasteurellae, Pseudomonadaceae, Neisseriaceae, Rickettsiae, Moraxellaceae, any speCIes of Proteeae, Acinetobacter spp., Helicobacter spp., and Campylobacter spp ., wherein the infection is a skin infection, a respiratory tract infection, a hospital acquired infection, an intra-abdominal infection or a urinary tract infection.
