The present invention provides a gesture sensor module and a portable terminal including the same. The gesture sensor is able to accurately recognize the movement of a user by including an emitting unit which is arranged in a first plane capable of emitting a signal to a target object and a receiving unit which is arranged in a second plane which is not parallel to the first plane in order to receive a signal which is reflected from the target object.
