The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rectangular secondary battery having increased rigidity against vibration and impact. This rectangular secondary battery (1) has a flat electrode group (40), a current collecting plate (21) which is electrically connected to the electrode group (40), a battery can (4) which houses the current collecting plate (21) and the electrode group (40), a battery lid (3) which closes the opening (4a) of the battery can (4), an electrode terminal (61) which is provided so as to penetrate through the battery lid (3) and which is connected to the current collecting plate (21) through a connection member, and a gasket (66) which is disposed between the electrode terminal (61) and the battery lid (3) and which insulates and seals between the electrode terminal (61) and the battery lid (3). An insulating body (65) is provided between the current collecting plate (21) and the battery lid (3). The battery lid (3) has a battery lid-side affixation section (3b) to which the insulating body (65) is affixed. The insulating body (65) has a current colleting plate-side affixation section (65c) to which the current collecting plate (21) is affixed. |
