<p>The purpose of the present invention is to accurately estimate the state of charge using the open circuit voltage for a battery. A control unit (50) uses a SOC-OCV table (61) and a DOD-OCV table (62) to estimate the state of charge for the battery on the basis of the measured or estimated open circuit voltage for the battery.
