A barrier (1) for preventing ingress of water through an opening, the barrier (1) comprising a frame (2) having a base frame member (3) and two lateral upright frame members (4) and a flexible barrier member (5). The flexible barrier member (5) having all or a substantial part of three peripheral portions of the flexible barrier member (5) permanently attached along all or a substantial part of the length of the base frame member (3) and the two lateral upright members (4) so that no relative movement occurs between the permanently attached parts of the peripheral portions of the flexible barrier (5) and the upright lateral frame members (4) when the barrier (1) is deployed between a stowed position and a deployed position. |
