The present invention relates to a mutant strain Monascusruber ACEP-1 KACC 93162P of Monascus and relates to cultivated red-yeast rice to which Monascusruber ACEP-1 KACC 93162P is inoculated. The mutant strain Monascusruber ACEP-1 KACC 93162P of Monascus is mutated by UV-C and NTG exposure, produces monacolin K in large amounts, and does not produce citrinin. According to the present invention, the mutant strain Monascusruber ACEP-1 KACC 93162P of Monascus has an excellent productivity of monacolin K and a pigment producing ability and thus can be used in fields associated with pigments.
