A drum brake for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a brake shoe; and a lining attached on the outer surface of the brake shoe and comes in contact with the inner side of the drum which rotates during a braking operation to cause a friction. The brake shoe forms departure prevention protrusions which support the both end units of the lining to prevent the lining from breaking away toward the rotation direction of the drum during a braking operation. The present invention forms the departure prevention protrusions on the brake shoe to support the both end units of the lining to prevent the lining from breaking away to maintain the function of the brake and prevent the a vehicle from being involved in an accident which can occur while the vehicle is driving in advance. Also, the departure prevention protrusions are formed to have a predetermined thickness to notify the replacement cycle of the lining based on the friction noise caused by the friction between the drum and the departure prevention protrusions during a braking operation.
