摘要 The present invention refers to the manufacture of aspheric phase plates with a cubic profile in two perpendicular directions which have no rotational symmetry. The technique proposed in the invention is a modification to the conventional and traditional technique for manufacturing optic elements upon using polishing equipment and machinery where essentially two surfaces are rubbed one against the other. In addition, interferometry is proposed to be used for evaluating the shape and quality of the manufactured surfaces. This novel manufacturing process allows this type of surfaces to be manufactured in a massive, easy and cost effective manner. This invention will impact the design of optic systems in a near future.
