Provided is a lithium secondary battery characterized by comprising: (i) a positive active material comprising lithium metal phosphate represented by the chemical formula 1, Li1+aM(PO4-b)Xb (1) , where M is one or more groups selected from the group consisting of 2-12 groups of metals, X is one or more groups selected from among F, S and N, and -0.5≤a≤+0.5, 0≤x≤0.5, 0≤b≤0.1; and (ii) a negative active material comprising amorphous carbon.
