[Problem] To provide a negative electrode for an electrical device such as a Li ion secondary battery, the electrode exhibiting a good balance of characteristics such as high initial capacity and maintaining high cycle characteristics. [Solution] A negative electrode for an electrical device, the electrode comprising a collector, and an electrode layer having a binder, a conduction auxiliary and negative electrode active material disposed on the surface of the collector, wherein the negative electrode active material is formed from a mixture of an alloy represented by formula (1): SixSnyMzAa, and a carbonaceous material.
