The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an alternating current electric power generator that is for a vehicle and is provided with a power conversion unit that is highly reliable. In the present invention, a stator of a rotary electrical machine comprises a plurality of sets of three-phase windings, and a power conversion unit comprises a plurality of sets of three-phase bridge circuits corresponding to the plurality of sets of three-phase windings. Each of the three-phase windings of the stator is connected to a direct current power source via the corresponding three-phase bridge circuit of the power conversion unit. The plurality of sets of three-phase bridge circuits are controlled by shifting the switching timings thereof. Semiconductor switches constituting the arms in each of the plurality of sets of three-phase bridge circuits comprise a MOSFET of one chip. |
